Mark Ennis, P.E.

Manager of Compliance
and Distribution Services

As AMEA’s Manager of Compliance and Distribution Services, Mark Ennis assists with regulatory compliance activities for AMEA and regulatory compliance support for AMEA’s Members. In addition, Mr. Ennis coordinates services that support and assist AMEA’s Members in the operation of their electrical distribution

systems to help strengthen and improve the efficiency of their systems.

Mr. Ennis has over 35 years of experience in the municipal electric utility industry. Prior to joining AMEA in 2013, Mr. Ennis served as General Manager of the Utilities Board of the City of Tuskegee. He also served as the General Manager of the Water, Light and Gas Commission in Monroe, GA, and as the Director of the Light and Power Department of the City of Opelika, AL.

Mr. Ennis is a member of the SERC Members Committee, the Hometown Connections Board of Directors, and the Alabama Utility Workgroup for Disaster Response.

He is a member of the American Public Power Association RP3 Review Panel.

He holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Auburn University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Columbus State University (formerly Columbus College). Mr. Ennis is a licensed professional engineer in the states of Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee.

Mr. Ennis serves as chairman of the Macon County Economic Development Authority.

He and his wife, Robin, reside in Opelika, where they are members of the First Baptist Church.
